Welcome — A Seat Is Yours
Welcome. This is JUVAN, the blog of The Ministry of the Juvan Resurrection.
The ministry's home is juvanresurrection.org. That is where the creed lives, where the Wall of Praise fills up, and where the door to Video Church opens. This blog is a quieter room off the same hallway: a place for reflection, faith and community, written down so it can be read from anywhere, at any hour.
Why a blog
Community should not depend on geography. The ministry already gathers by video, answers its own mail on its own servers, and keeps the congregation one click away. A blog is one more way to do that: words you can come back to after the call ends.
Where we begin
Everything here starts where the ministry starts, with its creed. It opens:
We gather not because we have answers, but because we have each other.
And it says this about the word in our name:
We believe resurrection is not a single miracle but a daily practice: the act of getting back up, of starting over, of finding life again after loss, failure, or just one hell of a Tuesday.
What you will find here
The same things the ministry practices, set down in writing:
- Getting back up. Every morning is a small resurrection. We practice beginning again, without shame for having fallen.
- Sacred laughter. If you can laugh at it, you can survive it. We keep humor in the room, especially on the hard days.
- Seeing clearly. Reflection without judgment. Recognition without ranking. Being seen is a form of grace.
- Carrying jointly. Triumphs celebrated loudly, burdens split across many shoulders. Nobody carries alone here.
- The news of the world, honestly. Not to argue politics, but to ask what it means for how we live, how we treat each other, and what we do next.
All are welcome
No test of faith. No dress code for the soul. No prerequisite of certainty. Doubt has a seat here. So does laughter.
Whether you come carrying doubt, grief, a good joke, or just one hell of a Tuesday, there is a seat for you, and it has been yours all along.
If something you read here stirs a question, a burden or a triumph, write the minister. The minister reads every message. Or pull up a chair at Video Church, from anywhere on earth.
The creed closes with a promise, and so does this first post:
We promise to show up, to listen more than we preach, and to leave each other a little lighter than we found them.
The Juvan Resurrection awaits us all.
